The 11th Hour to those who tend to avoid their Soul Calling

Archetypical strategies of avoiding our Soul Calling

When we want to avoid our Soul Calling we develop strategies to suppress, dissociate, manage, dismiss, alienate, or distract ourselves from this Call.

  • “I have a busy professional career, and I do a lot to compete in my field, even if I rarely feel personally satisfied from it.”

  • “I am often or always in a long term relationship, and even though I enjoy the comfort of it, I am afraid I am losing out on actual fulfillment because I never take the risk of stepping outside my comfort zone.”

  • “I find it uncomfortable having to consider my soul and its metaphysical origin, because without positivist and empirical proof of its existence I find it unreasonable as an existential choice.

  • “I try to live up to the expectations of people around me, and it is a big deal for me to not disappoint others, but I feel I do so at the expense of myself and my own desires.”

  • “I try to always look my best, but I am never really satisfied with how I look and it often makes me feel incomplete. It is easy for me to feel a deep sense of shame if somebody sees me in a way I am not happy with.”

  • “I tend to ignore signals that tell me that something is wrong and has to change. For example, I often avoid dealing with physical pain, health issues, relational problems, economic problems, or mental challenges.”

  • “I easily tend to overdo things I like, and occasionally, it becomes compulsive or turns into an addiction that can become hard to get out of.”

  • “I am drawn to taking risks because I like the thrill and the adrenaline spikes it gives me, but sometimes it backfires and when it does the consequences can become unmanageable.”

  • “I like to use my fantasy and I spend a lot of time day dreaming. I often retreat into my fantasies if something negative happens to me or if I feel overwhelmed. This includes entertainment, like gaming. But this can also include certain types of spirituality.
